A Story About Tigers

Stories like LIFE OF PI are inspired by nature and its magnificent wild species. Through the power of film, they make us believe the unbelievable and capture a tiger’s astonishing presence. But in reality, the tiger’s world is far from magical.

After a century of decline, tiger numbers are on the rise. At least 3,890 tigers remain in the wild, but much more work is needed to protect this species that’s still vulnerable to extinction. Tigers face threats of poaching, the rising demand for wild tigers parts and products, and rampant habitat loss.

But we can still change the story for wild tigers. World Wildlife Fund has set a bold goal of doubling the number of tigers in the wild by 2022, the next year of the tiger. WWF is working to preserve and connect tiger habitats, monitor tigers and their prey, reduce demand for tiger parts and products, and support governments to enforce zero tolerance for tiger poaching.

Join WWF and our partner, LIFE OF PI, in raising support for wild tiger conservation and together we can create a happy ending for wild tigers.
